Dear Mr Lee...

Wishing all Indians a very Happy Republic Day! The 61st republic day .   Honorable President, Mr Lee Myung bak, thank you for joining us for this year's parade. We hope you enjoyed every moment of our celebration and appreciated the effort put into every performance. The fog factor can be left to nature's mercy. Yes, it was the first republic day in many years that was greeted with dense mist on and around the Rajpath.            Sir,                  Like every year, the 2010 parade exhibited the discipline, passion and valor of Indian soldiers. From BSF to NCC students all paid respect to the Indian Tricolour in the proud memory of the enforcement of our constitution. The day commemorates the transformation of India into a People's nation. The eye-catching processions of different states depicting their culture, major products and characteristics amused and awed our Korean visitors. Their smiles and nods unveiled the same. These processions included our Mumbai's &

Creativity is the mother of art.

Its seed is slowly sown by imagination It flourishes in the nourished womb Of creativity and bursts out of bosom. Confused? ‘Art’ is the clarification Through the mother it receives the grace And a beauty which is unseen Through the father it snatches the base With a path to follow perfection. It’s personality is enhanced by expression And flourished by a desire to acquire But spoilt by the spirit to win Disastrously burnt out by boredom. Art is a passion, may be... A personification of imagination Rather a mirror image of creativity With a slight tinge of rhythm.

Hi everyone! Its been long since I have posted a poem but I wish to share some funny and tickling Christmas related incidences before I resume to poetry.                Being from a Parsi school (Fravashi Academy, Nashik) I have always been a part of all kinds of festive celebrations. Our school has always encouraged exchange of good will during festival seasons, be it pertaining to any religion. We have seen our teachers bring a Ganpati idol and install it in school accompanied by 'dhol' and shouting 'Ganpati Bappa Moraya' during Ganesh Utsav. We have also seen them decorate christmas trees, wrap gifts, dress up as Santa for the primary kids, distribute sweets and sing Christmas carols during Christmas. We have had holidays on Pateti as well as Eid and we have learnt the significance of  the phrase 'Vaheguruji da Khalsa te Vaheguruji di Fateh'. We have in short experienced secularism in our school. This is the reason why all religions are close to my heart.

Mumbai -III (Mood Indigo)

Pirates, was the Mood-I theme this year. And to highlight the same there were skulls and skeletons hanging all around the IIT campus. About 100 meters from the main gate at the end of a narrow turning, at a height of a lamp post were hung 4 skeletons with tattered clothes almost falling off them. The lane to which the turn led had green street lights. To make things worse that was the lane which led to our room! Fortunately I have never been so terrorized by the concept of ghosts so I managed to remain sane throughout the stay. There were skeletons all over the SOM (management building). The most intriguing spectacle was the 'rangoli' depicting the poster of the movie 'Pirates of the Caribbean' made to fit the floor of a room! It was flawless. All this set the mood of the event.             The event was a roller-coaster ride which took us through the innumerable activities taking place all around the campus. The first two days were witness to elimination rounds of all t

Mumbai -II (Marine Drive)

First thing I said to Mihir, once inside his car, was “I am hungry. I have had nothing since breakfast.” “Yup”,he said, “Same here. But let’s see Mumbai first. We cannot miss the sunset at Marine Drive.”So the next destination was Marine drive. A journey of an hour was awaiting us. Mihir and I were meeting after 6 months and there was so much to catch up! We kept talking! On our way Mihir kept me acquainted with the road and the important landmarks and distinct places. I was making a map of Mumbai in my head! But in my case the brain stops working as soon as I enter geography into it. It just refrains from registering the data. So later I gave up and stopped badgering it. Out of the many places that he showed me I distinctly remember a few. One is Mukesh Ambani’s 27 storeyed building! It is grand but seemed asymmetrical to me. I mean, when I had read about it I had imagined a well designed stunning structure which would awe me. But leave aside the awe factor, it didn’t even ca
