Dear Mr Lee...
Wishing all Indians a very Happy Republic Day! The 61st republic day. Honorable President, Mr Lee Myung bak, thank you for joining us for this year's parade. We hope you enjoyed every moment of our celebration and appreciated the effort put into every performance. The fog factor can be left to nature's mercy. Yes, it was the first republic day in many years that was greeted with dense mist on and around the Rajpath.
Sir,
Like every year, the 2010 parade exhibited the discipline, passion and valor of Indian soldiers. From BSF to NCC students all paid respect to the Indian Tricolour in the proud memory of the enforcement of our constitution. The day commemorates the transformation of India into a People's nation. The eye-catching processions of different states depicting their culture, major products and characteristics amused and awed our Korean visitors. Their smiles and nods unveiled the same. These processions included our Mumbai's 'dabevala' representing Maharashtra state. The folk dances by Kerala, Gujarat and Rajasthan added frolic to the rhythm of drums. We found you tapping your leg to our music Mr Lee. Surely you enjoyed watching it. These processions were followed by the performances by school children to signify the importance of healthy lifestyle. A small aerobics skit. All eyes rose to the flypast of the Indian Air force with fighter planes zooming in different formations, cutting through the dense fog.
I hope you were impressed by the zeal and discipline in our nation Mr Lee and your visit turns out to be a catalyst for the trade ties of the two countries. Thankyou once again.
